Part 2: Melbourne

By the time we got to Melbourne I had a pretty bad cold and wasn't feeling too energetic.  If it had been up to me I would have slept in the airport the whole time.  Luckily, it wasn't up to me and I soldiered on through the city.

Three (and a half words) words to describe Melbourne:  Gritty, alleyways, weather-shifts.  What make Melbourne fun is that all the good stuff is hiding.  You have to walk around and make turns down alleyways that you might not other wise consider.  All the stuff that's out in the open is just kind of ordinary - making it seem like a generic city at first.  The weather also changes on a dime here - it would be hot and sunny, then in a flash - rainy and cold.

The Melbourne Museum might be the best museum I've ever been too and I went to it just by chance.  We needed to kill 2 hours before heading to the airport so we though why not hit up the museum.   I ran around like a 5 year for two hours and still had barely made a dent in seeing all of the collections. It was so interactive and it really felt like the museum on the whole was telling an story - it wasn't just a bunch of old stuff in a room.  We didn't take very many pictures here only because we were so rushed - but trust me, it was awesome

Part 1: Sydney - The Land Down Under Barbies and Shrimp.

A couple weeks ago Lucas, my Mom, and my self took a quick trip to Australia.  We flew out of Wellington and learned to our surprise that you need a tourist visa if you're flying from NZ to Australia.  Our first stop was in Sydney and I loved the city almost instantly.  Its everything you want from a modern city: clean, beautiful, easy to walk around, parks, cute cafes, wide variety of food, street markets, easy transit system - Sydney had it all.

My favorite walk we did was from Coogee Beach to Bondi Beach.  I can't recommend this enough.  It was simply beautiful.
