Cape Palliser and Wairarapa Area

I've been hearing a lot about this little wine region just north of Wellington and with the help of some friends - finally organized a little day trip out there.  We headed out to Cape Palliser to check out the famous seals, lighthouse, bulldozers, and the Putangirua Pinnacles - NZ best example of badlands erosion.

We spent about an hour watching the waves hit a small rocky formation just off the highway.  It was a very cold and exciting hour.  It reminded me of a really small version of the Bufadora in Ensenada.

Can you see the seals resting on the rocks?
